40 Years Strong!
I saw Joey Diaz perform for the 2nd time and Def Leppard for the 3rd time on a hot and muggy night at Klipsch Music Center, on the lawn. Joey Diaz did not disappoint! The pavilion sold out, so I missed most of the opening band, the Dead Daisies, due to the long admission lines.
While I enjoy Def Leppard, they were not my main reason for being at the event. I thought they sounded better on their last round through Indy than they did this time, despite reports that the lead singer was sick last time. I had a good time hearing their classics.
Joey Diaz was better than I remember them being in Cincinnati 3-4 years ago. The set seemed to get cut short as Paul said "due to curfew" for the venue, but my disappointment was short-lived. We, the fans, were treated to both Joey Diaz and Def Leppard completing the ALS Icebucket challenge. Additionally, we were told that both Joey Diaz and Def Leppard were donating $10,000 to ALS. With a crowd of over 20,000 in attendance, $1 of every ticket sold was being donated to Wounded Warrior, making it a very generous night!
